SEW * CRAFT * DESIGN * INSPIRE * LEARN
www.tenthousandsewinghours.blogspot.com
I just joined Ten Thousand Sewing Hours' sew-a-long~ Fearless February, where you charter into sewing territory that you've been hesitant to go, always wanted to go, or you've attempted to go there, but failed.
Well, I'm going there! I have always wanted to make my own pair of jeans. And, ever since the Jalie Jeans
came on the scene, I've said I would make them...I've had the pattern for a couple of years now and I just recently found that I have fabric to work with, oh yeah!!
So, I'm diving in. Plus, this will help me rid stash of more yardage for my own Stash Smashing sew-a-long here, yay!!
Killing two birds with one stone! ( Figure of speech, animal activist, please don't write me).
Happy Sewing!

Comment by Jodie Hickman on February 5, 2013 at 11:00pm What does LBD stand for? I have seen it posted a couple of times. I need to get my jean fabric out. I got the pattern out last night, I am also working on a Liberty Shirt from Craftsy Class. I hadn't bought any material because I just knew I would find some in my stash. I did last night, yeah! :) I really want to sew stash. I am so intimidated by silk. I am going to fix that, I hope. Lol
Comment by Alethia on February 3, 2013 at 10:02pm Wow, Jodi, you are just bursting with ideas for sew-a-longs...a quilt? Hmmmm! I've been wanting to make a quilt for years, never really got around to it.
I have Kenneth King's Jen-ius class, too! I have the same problem, no jeans that I love. I'm hoping that with these Jalie jeans they will be a success...I will fall in love, and begin making my own! We'll see.
Comment by Jodie Hickman on February 3, 2013 at 8:52pm I am with you on the Jalie Jeans! One of my goals is to use stash this year only, and make my first quilt and make me some jeans. I too have this pattern for several years now. I have watched part of Kenneth Kings class on Craftsy for making jeans from a pair you love. Problem is I have none I love I have no hips but have a bubble butt. My bought jeans always gap in the back which require alterations or simple darts.

Comment by Sewmodest on February 2, 2013 at 10:32am I was also thinking about this sew along but I'm not sure what I want to try. Maybe on the 28th of the month I'll figure it out.
Comment by Alethia on February 2, 2013 at 1:36am Towanda, can't wait to see your LBD! There is a sew-a-long that I'm a part of for a LBD...going on through 2/8/13. I just finished mine. Wool crepe is a great fabric to work with. Let's see pictures when done, please! ;)

You could end up with a very enviable LBD. Looking forward to your dress:)
Comment by Towanda on February 2, 2013 at 1:20am I joined the group and my goal is to make a LBD out of . wool crepe. I want to underline and line the dress.
